**Sharing Web Resources**

This week I looked further into the National Head Start Association website http://www.nhsa.org/. Although I have not seen much pop up in reference to new and exciting insights regarding our class, there were a few old links that I had not previously explored. Within the website, there was a link for "Dialog Briefs" under the "Research" tab. This link brought to a long list of articles within the Early Childhood field.

I further explored the link by clicking on an article that seemed appropriate for this week's discussion on equity and excellence, Head Start and the Changing Demographics of Today's Young Children, By Olivia Golden. This is an excellence extension link to the NHSA website. The link contains papers "exploring the implications of diversity and immigration for the Head Start community." It also "describes the increasing diversity of America's young children and their families and makes recommendations about how Head Start and Early Head Start practitioners can best address the changing backgrounds and experiences of these children."

I have been slightly disappointed that I paid a membership fee to join the NHSA website and have not received specific monthly e-newsletters yet and the website has not changed too much yet either. Because this course is only other a few weeks, it may be that this website will take time to increase and change.  I am hoping that as a member, I will continue to find these great links to other resources that can continue to help me grow as an early childhood professional!

  1. Julie,
It is disappointing when you pay money to an organization and do not receive information as you thought. Hopefully that patience will pay off and you will receive their newsletters, etc.
